FAQ & Troubleshooting

Frequently asked questions and common troubleshooting tips.

Common questions and solutions for Sumo users.

General

What is Sumo?

Sumo is a market making platform for token founders and professional market makers. It provides automated trading strategies, secure wallet management, and real-time analytics across Solana and EVM chains.

Who is Sumo for?

Sumo is built for two primary audiences:

  • Token founders who want to maintain healthy liquidity and price stability for their token
  • Market makers who manage trading operations across multiple tokens and DEXes

Which chains does Sumo support?

Sumo supports Solana, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Base. See Supported Chains for the full list.

How much does Sumo cost?

Sumo charges a 5% fee on withdrawals only. There are no monthly subscriptions, per-trade charges, or setup costs. Deposits, strategy execution, and wallet generation are all free. See Platform Fees for details.

Strategies

What strategies does Sumo offer?

Sumo offers four strategy types:

  • Counter Trade — Automatically counter external buys/sells to stabilize price
  • DCA — Scheduled buys or sells at regular intervals
  • Limit Orders — Conditional trades based on market cap ranges
  • Instant Trade — One-click manual trades from the dashboard

See Strategies Overview for details on each.

What happens if my strategy fails?

Failed trades are logged with a failure reason in Trade Logs. Your funds remain safe in your wallets — a failed trade never results in lost funds. Common failure reasons include slippage exceeded and insufficient balance.

Can I run multiple strategies at once?

Yes. You can run multiple strategies simultaneously on the same profile, even across different wallet groups.

Wallets & Security

Are my private keys safe?

Yes. Sumo uses AES-256-GCM envelope encryption with master keys stored in a hardware security module (HSM). Private keys are decrypted only in an isolated signing service's memory for the brief moment needed to sign a transaction. See Security & Encryption for details.

How many wallets can I create?

There is no limit. You can generate as many wallets as you need from a single seed, or import existing wallets via private keys.

What is a wallet group?

Wallet groups let you organize wallets into named, color-coded sets. You can assign strategies to specific groups, run treasury operations on a group, and use groups for token launch bundles. See Wallet Groups.

Treasury

Why was my cashout amount less than expected?

Sumo charges a 5% platform fee on all withdrawals. If you selected "Gross before fees" as the amount mode, the fee is deducted from your entered amount. Use "Net after fees" if you want destinations to receive the exact amount you enter. See Platform Fees.

How long do cashouts take?

Cashouts are processed on-chain and typically confirm within seconds on Solana. EVM chain cashouts depend on the network's block time and congestion.

What is Privacy Cashout?

Privacy Cashout distributes funds from one wallet to multiple destination wallets through a third-party privacy provider (Husher or SplitNOW), breaking the direct on-chain link between source and destinations. See Privacy Cashout.
