FAQ & Troubleshooting
Frequently asked questions and common troubleshooting tips.
Common questions and solutions for Sumo users.
General
What is Sumo?
Sumo is a market making platform for token founders and professional market makers. It provides automated trading strategies, secure wallet management, and real-time analytics across Solana and EVM chains.
Who is Sumo for?
Sumo is built for two primary audiences:
- Token founders who want to maintain healthy liquidity and price stability for their token
- Market makers who manage trading operations across multiple tokens and DEXes
- Launch teams who need to prepare wallets, launch tokens, and coordinate trading operations from one workspace
Which chains does Sumo support?
Sumo supports Solana, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, and Base. See Supported Chains for the full list.
How much does Sumo cost?
Sumo charges a 1% platform fee on Sumo-executed trading volume. There are no monthly subscriptions, setup costs, deposit platform fees, or withdrawal platform fees. Network gas, DEX fees, aggregator fees, and privacy provider fees are separate. See Platform Fees for details.
How do I create an account?
Sumo signup is invite-only. If you need access, contact us on Telegram for an invite code. After signup, you can invite teammates from Manage Users.
Strategies
What strategies does Sumo offer?
Sumo offers automated strategies and manual trading tools:
- Counter Trade — Automatically counter external buys/sells to stabilize price
- DCA — Scheduled buys or sells at regular intervals
- Limit Orders — Conditional trades based on market cap ranges
- Instant Trade — Manual buys and sells using preset or custom amounts
- Stable Swap — Manual swaps between supported stablecoin/profile asset pairs
See Strategies Overview for details on each.
What happens if my strategy fails?
Failed trades are logged with a failure reason in Trade Logs. Your funds remain safe in your wallets — a failed trade never results in lost funds. Common failure reasons include slippage exceeded and insufficient balance.
Can I run multiple strategies at once?
Yes. You can run multiple strategies simultaneously on the same profile, even across different wallet groups.
Wallets & Security
Are my private keys safe?
Yes. Sumo uses AES-256-GCM envelope encryption with master keys stored in a hardware security module (HSM). Private keys are decrypted only in an isolated signing service's memory for the brief moment needed to sign a transaction. See Security & Encryption for details.
How many wallets can I create?
There is no fixed organization-wide wallet limit. You can generate wallets from a seed, import existing wallets, or move prepared wallets from Wallet Farm into a profile. Some bulk workflows cap the number of wallets per operation to keep execution reliable.
What is a wallet group?
Wallet groups let you organize wallets into named, color-coded sets. You can assign strategies to specific groups, run treasury operations on a group, and use groups for token launch bundles. See Wallet Groups.
What is Wallet Farm?
Wallet Farm is a workspace for preparing wallets before they belong to a specific trading profile. You can generate or import wallets, organize them into folders, fund them privately, generate activity, and then import prepared wallets into a profile. See Wallet Farm.
Treasury
Do withdrawals have a Sumo platform fee?
No. Withdrawals do not have a Sumo platform fee. Source wallets still pay normal network gas or transaction fees required by the chain.
How long do withdrawals take?
Withdrawals are processed on-chain and typically confirm within seconds on Solana. EVM chain withdrawals depend on the network's block time and congestion.
What is Privacy Swap?
Privacy Swap distributes native assets or supported stablecoins from one or more source wallets to destination wallets through a third-party privacy provider, breaking the direct on-chain link between source and destinations. See Privacy Swap.
Does Privacy Swap support stablecoins?
Yes. Privacy Swap supports native assets and registered stablecoin-to-same-stablecoin swaps when that asset is available for the selected chain and provider, such as USDC to USDC, USDT to USDT, or USD1 to USD1.

How do I invite teammates?
Open Manage Users, enter the teammate's email address, choose a role, and send the invite. Their status shows as Invite Sent until they complete signup.
Can I use Telegram for login verification?
Yes. Link Telegram from Settings, then choose Telegram as your two-factor authentication method. See Telegram Bot.
How do referrals work?
Each organization can generate a referral code and shareable signup link. Referred organizations receive the configured discount, and your organization earns commission on eligible platform fees. See Referrals.
